Rule of thumb is ovulation occurs close to 14 days before the start of the next period. Natural temperature charting (bbt) can help pin down when, but can also be frustrating and inaccurate. The home opk is pretty reliable for most women. For women with cycles more irregular, doctors can monitor with ultrasound.
