In brief: The role of the fami
The family has a very important role for the person who is living with the effects of a stroke.
In addition to the very crucial role of emotional support, family members in some situations will need to learn some of the care needed to help with the basic needs of the stroke survivor. In addition, they can encourage and follow through with the strategies and exercises formulated by the therapist.

In brief: Be supportive
Physical and especially psychological support is essential.
They may help taking some or even all the responsibilities you used to take care of, while you are returning back to normal. They may actually help you taking care of some personal care. They may assist with physical/occupational therapy, massage, administering medications, making appointments, helping with mobility etc.

agree! A good support system is of paramount importance in the recovery from a cerebrovascular accident(CVA or stroke).
