In brief: A clot disolver

If one has an "embolic" stroke due usually to a clot, and one presents early into the stroke, a "clot busting" drug usually given intravenously may be administered to lessen the effect of the stroke.
If warning signs of a stroke present, call 911 immediately and get to the nearest er. You may have to be transferred to a referral center but you may get treatment started urgently en route. Do it!
