What's the best trestment for white coat syndrome? I get soooo nervous at dr. Appts and get an insanely high BP reading but normal at home.

A cognitive approach can help, but often anxiety comes in through the back door as just an immediate reaction to a trigger. Deep breathing, relaxing into the anxiety sensations, and energy tapping can help.

While wcs is controversial, morbidity of elevated BP only in the doctor's office and not at home is lower than consistently elevated bp.
Many factors contribute to wcs, but it's best to make sure the cuff used at home is accurate. Bring it with you to your office visit to compare and take your BP regularly at home. Also practice relaxation prior to BP measures. But know that hbp is dangerous.
