In brief: Both

Citalopram & mirtazepine target symptoms of anxiety including panic attacks.
The results of an open label study in panic disorder (2001) suggest that Mirtazapine seems to be a fast & effective treatment alternative for ssris in panic disorder. A placebo-controlled study (1997) demonstrated efficacy of citalopram in reducing panic attacks. Both meds have been associated with panic attacks during tx.

In brief: Yes

Both citalopram and Mirtazapine can be helpful for panic attacks and anxiety.
Mirtazepine may cause more sedation and weight gain, though. Talk with your psychiatrist about the best treatment for you.

In brief: Either one or both

Both medications can treat panic attacks and anxiety.
They can also be used together (usually citalopram during the day and Mirtazapine at bedtime) and work synergistically to decrease panic attacks and anxiety.
