In brief: I don't understand
I have never heard of this.
Nearly all physical therapy departments have normal linoleum or carpeted floors. Unless you want to put magnets in the soles of your shoes to keep your feel from sliding around, or to make you work harder to pick up your feet, i can think of no reason why walking on an iron floor would be desired or have any advantage.
