In brief: Consider this...

Consider this ..
. A small layer of enamel is removed with bleaching. Overdoing whitening can produce permanent discoloration. Please see only a dentist for bleaching/whitening and refrain from the current trend of whitening in a spa or mall or beauty salon. Whitening teeth is best managed by an experienced dentist, especially sensitive teeth & gums as health is the main focus of their attention!

In brief: None!

I never recommend an over-the-counter whitening agent to my patients.
These agents contain peroxides which by way of free radical formation, cause dna damage, especially in tissues with high turnover (like gum tissues). If you want to whiten your teeth, see a dental professional; he or she will properly dispense a safe product that will not leech onto gum tissues, thereby preventing the above.

In brief: Do not use

Bleaching solutins and strips may increase the sesitivity of your teeth.
You should solve your sesitivity issue before using any commercial strips on your teeth. Also, I have found that strips do not always give an even bleaching effect.
