What is an endodontic shamrokh modification?

Cloverleaf shaped . This refers to the notion that getting straight line access to the canals in a multi-canaled tooth may require irregular shaped access preparation in order to preserve tooth structure. In other words, the opening made in the tooth may look like a 3 or 4 leafed clover rather than the classic shapes described in endodontic textbooks.
Root Canal Technique. This special technique is used to fill the canal space that allows root canal sealer to obdurate lateral canals. Commonly used in endodontic practice.
Clover shaped hole. In the process of treating a root canal a hole needs to be drilled through the chewing surface of the tooth. This provides access into the root canal system. For multiple reasons this shape has been modified over the years. The irregular shape of this opening can resemble a 4 leaf clover thus the name "shamrock modification".
Access to root canal. This refers to the notion that getting straight line access to the canals in a multi-canaled tooth may require irregular shaped access preparation in order to preserve tooth structure.
