Training. A rehab coach for people with brain injuries must be one who is able to differentiate between various types of brain injuries and is able to administer proper rehab program. He needs to have sound knowledge of what's indicated and what's not and preferably have reliable experience in dealing with this type of patients.
Patience. The rehab coach needs to be patient and understanding. Frequently with brain injury, the patient cannot focus and cannot remember. They need constant repetition and coaching. This applies to physical, occupational and cognitive therapy. It is often a team rather than just one person. The team also needs to be able to work closely with family members to keep them involved and engaged.
