Eye infections are generaly caused by virus, bacteria or allergic reactions.
Viral infections generally have to run there coarse, much like a cold before it gets better. There are anti-viral drugs that may be indicated especially if it is a herpes infection with corneal involvement. Theses usually are painful with light sensitivity and decreased vision. These need to treated by an ophthalmologist.
