Depends on severity. A sprain is damage to the supportive ligaments around a joint, such as an ankle, elbow, or knee. Depending on the pre-existing laxity of the tissues, the severity of the injury, and the amount of bleeding/bruising for your body to reabsorb, it can take weeks to months to fully recover strength and mobility. Some loss of joint stability can also occur. Everybody's different, as are their injuries!
