In brief: No

Time to get that checked out.
Hard to say what is wrong without an exam. It may not be related to the cts.

In brief: Not usually

This sounds like you may have a trigger finger or related tendinitis of the finger. This can be seen with carpal tunnel, but it is hard to say exactly what the cause - effect is.
I would try a cortisone shot for a trigger finger. I bet that helps.
