In brief: TLC
Make sure the wounds are dry.
Painting the incisions with betadine twice a day can help prevent infections. Be around to assist when she wants to get up and walk- walking is good thing. If she has leg swelling, a low pressure compression sock (below the knee) can help.

Keeping the wounds clean is very important to decrease the risk of infection. Walking is also very important for her recovery and to decrease the risk of other complications. If she used to smoke, encouraging her to quit will also prolong the life of the bypass.
