In brief: FDA POSITION

This is a long and detailed discussion.
While these implants are relatively safe, all surgery carries risksyou may also want to review the fda position statement on this subject: http://www.Fda.Gov/medicaldevices/productsandmedicalprocedures/implantsandprosthetics/breastimplants/default.Htm the benefits are the improvement in self-esteem and self-confidence that you will feel with your new figure.

The risk of a breast augmentation with saline implants and silicone gel implants is the same. The most common early postoperative risk is a hematoma, less than 1%, and the most common late complication is capsular contracture. implants.

In brief: Main Risk/Benefit

The main risk of silicone implants as opposed to saline implants (my opinion) is long term reactions within your body and hardening with the need for more involved maintenance surgery over time.
Saline implants break and require replacement. Silicone implants can feel and look better initially in thinner patients and are less likely to "ripple.".

In brief: Several

If a patient has very low body fat and/or very little breast tissue, the silicone gel implants may provide a more "natural" result.
In other words, these implants tend to have fewer problems with rippling. On the other hand, detection of silicone gel breast implant leakage may require MRI studies; leakage may not be detectable clinically.

In brief: Several

Silicone implants typically feel softer than saline implants.
Both are very safe. If a silicone implant ruptures, you may not know it, and you would need an mri. However, the silicone will likely stay within the implant shell because the silicone is a cohesive gel. http://www.dassmd.com/breast-augmentation/breast-augmentation-of-los-angeles.html.
