Fetal age is of course the exact age of your fetus as determined by measurements taken of the baby.
Fetuses have different rates of growth or may have problems with growth, so sometimes the measurement age doesn't match the "expected" gestational age. The best "age" is determined by an early ultrasound between 6 and 12 weeks gestation. Accuracy of ultrasound decreases as pregnancy progresses.
