Can your areolas get darker before your period?

In brief: Not typically

The darkening of the areolar areas of your skin do not typically get darker related to your cycle.
I would not say that this could never happen, but it is not typical. The main time that we see this happen is in pregnancy. Could you be pregnant? Regardless of the cause, it is not a sign of underlying problems in almost all cases. Good luck!
