Sometimes. There are many conditions associated to cts that cannot be preventable, such as diabetes, hypothyroidism, arthritis, amyloidosis. The only preventive thing we can do is to prevent using the wrist and hand too much (overuse) which is associated to certain occupations or professions or even hobbies.

Take breaks to stretch the tissues across the wrist- usually flexion/ extension of the wrist, hands, and fingers.
