What does the term vin mean when referring to cancer?

VIN. Vulvar intraepithelial neoplasia (vin) is dysplasia of the vulva. The grades, assigned by the pathologist when microscopically examining vulvar biopsy specimens, are vin 1 (mild squamous dysplasia), vin 2 (moderate squamous dysplasia), and vin 3 (severe squamous dysplasia). Vin 2 and 3 have the highest risk of progression to invasive squamous cell carcinoma if left untreated.
Pre cancer. Vin stands for vulvar intraepithelial neoplasia. This is a ore cancerous condition of the skin of the vulva. Local excision should lead to cure.
