I had an oophorectomy about 8 months ago why do I still have an ugly reddish, c-section-like scar from it?

In brief: Hypertrophic scar

It healed with a hypertrophic scar or keloid.
Over the counter scar creams can help such as bio oil or mederma. If these are not useful see a dermatologist for cortisone shots to shrink the scar. Laser can also shrink elevated scar tissue.

In brief: Immature scar

First, check with your surgeon to make sure it is healing properly.
Most immature scars will be red and take 6-18 months to mature. As long as nothing is wrong you can try topical silicone gel or gel sheets. It should get better.
