How do you begin to wean when breastfeeding? He doesn't like bottles so i give him sippy cups and he only bf's when he is sleepy

In brief: Weaning

It's fortunate that your baby prefers to drink from a sippy cup.
If s/he is less than 12 months, give formula; if more than 12 mos, give whole milk, in the cup. Start cutting breastfeeding one at a time every 3 - 5 days. If you have saved expressed breast milk, you can mix it with the formula/whole milk to give some taste of breast milk.

Great advice! Weaning to an open cup or " commuter cup" is even better to promote lip closure for drinking & saying consonants ("p" & "b").
