In brief: No

If someone promises a cure, or tells you that your cancer could have been cured for certain if you'd been seen earlier, phone the local district attorney.
However, the vast majority of breast cancers, most especially those that the woman finds herself, are cured successfully by today's methods. That's a good thing and far better than the world i was born into.

In brief: Yes and no

The best results are obtained when breast cancer is detected early.
Currently on average about 80-85% of women with breast cancer survive this disease and are considered cured with appropriate treatment. But still there are a large number of breast cancer patients who are not cured and unfortunately die of this disease. The survival rate has been steadily imroving in the last 20 years.
