Solve the problem by not allowing any children in the family to wear makeup until after a certain age, such as 16-17-18.
Every family has their rules, which work pretty well if they are applied consistently. Allow certain things for 9th-10th-11th-12th grade, so more activities are allowed as each child gets older. This works for bedtimes, going out with friends, curfews, etc...
