In brief: Fibromyalgia
Fibromyalgia is a pain syndrome much like arthritis, but it is of the muscles not the joints.
The pain is constant and has flares where it is much worse. Usually, these flares are brought on by over exertion or stress and depletion of cortisol levels. There are many trigger points of pain on the body that help with the diagnosis of fibromyalgia. These can be mapped out on most patients.
