In brief: Both are good

Yoga and pilates both employ a lot of core strengthening exercises without high impact or heavy lifting.
I recommend them both to my patients frequently.

In brief: No

Both are great forms of exercise for flexibility and core strenthening for almost any back issue.
Just make sure you have periodic check ups for your scoliosis if more than a mild case and maintain good weight control, avoid smoking and check bone density levels when the time comes as recommended by your doctor.
