In brief: Typically Not

There are many untoward complications involved with any surgery to the TMJ and it would be best to follow up with your surgeon in investigating if this is a complication that needs to be addressed or otherwise.

In brief: Not necessarily

I would go back to the surgeon who performed the arthroscopy (also called arthroscopic surgery) to get some answers.
You may need additional tmj/tmd treatment. Don't hesitate!

In brief: Yes and no

Some patients may have a gritty feeling in their joint.
This is usually due to adhesions or scarring. However, if the joint feels like it is getting stuck, you should discuss this with your surgeon.
