In brief: How good the test?

Your symptoms suggest a problem with the femoral nerve or saphenous nerve.
These nerves are not part of the "standard" test battery of emgers. You should enquire of the doctor whether these nerves and the associated anterior thigh muscles (such as quadriceps, adductors, obturator) were evaluated. If not, have the test redone with attention to those nerves and muscles.
