In brief: Get a MRI & see a Dr
Mri's see nerve and disc.
If you have a pinched nerve, an MRI will be able to tell your doctor that.

In brief: Numbness, weakness
Back pain is unfortunately a common malady, but nerve involvement is less frequent.
Nerve injury usually results in a band of numbness, pain, or tingling in a pattern down one leg. Specific muscles may be weak, depending upon the affected nerve. An abnormal reflex may also be present on exam. Take heart: 90% of back pain resolves without surgery. If symptoms linger, make an appt with your doctor.
