Is it okay to take a Xanax (alprazolam) periodically while on wellbutrin?

Probably, but. There is some concern that individuals who take xanax (alprazolam) regularly w/ wellbutrin & abruptly stop the xanax (alprazolam) may increase seizure risk (esp if there is a history of seizures). Also, wellbutrin may reduce the effectiveness of xanax (alprazolam). Occasional use is probably not associated with any significant interactions. However, consult your doc since he/she is knows your situation best.
