Swimming good for bulge disc/herniated disc lower back? What this also help with tight, stiff muscles? Help to put pressure of pinched nerves?

Swimming. Swimming is a very good activity for someone with back pain. The water helps to unweight the spine. I refer many of my patients for water therapy.
To start. Water (or aquatic-based therapy) is an excellent way to initiate a exercise/therapy program for disc herniation or degenerative discs. However therapy should progress in a steplike fashion with land therapy gradually incorporated to simulate real-life activity. But water is a great place to start therapy and keep cardiovascular conditioning up to par.
