In brief: Cataract
Yes. If the cataract is having an adverse effect on your daily life (driving, reading, etc.
), then surgery is the best option.

Cataract surgery is the only way to cure a cataract. Many things such as medications and vitamins have been tried but none have been effective. Sometimes a cataract will cause a significant change in glasses prescription and getting new glasses can temporarily help the vision. New glasses will not prevent the progression of the cataract however.

In brief: Maybe
If the vision is cloudy from the cataract, then surgery is the definitive cure.
If the vision is clear but the catatact is only causing refractive changes then glasses or contact lenses can used until the vision becomes cloudy.

Currently, cataracts can be removed with surgery (which may involve laser), and they are removed if the underlying visual potential is good and the cataract is consistent as the cause of the visual complaint.
