In brief: Anxiety treatment

The treatment for anxiety is multifaceted.
Including counseling, desensitization, meditation and breathing exercises, medication. The medication should be one that prevents anxiety rather than react to it. Xanax (alprazolam) is a reactive not preventative medication with a decent risk of dependence. See your doctor or psychiatrist for appropriate treatment.

In brief: Anxiety attacks

Hopefully you have your own psychiatrist and psychotherapist who've been working with you on your anxiety .
. . And you're developing the ongoing skills you need. Also your psychiatrist can safely prescribe medications that will help you, if needed. You deserve outpatient doctors who know you over time, rather than intermittent visits to hospital er's. You'll get more useful help that way.
