In brief: Chemotherapy
Primary liver cancer can spread to other parts of the liver, adrenal glands or lymph nodes.
Any spread is a bad sign and is rarely curable. Some metastases can be removed surgically but they often recur. By injecting drugs into individual tumor blood vessels some metastases can be killed. New chemotherapies can slow the progression of the cancer for a few months but there is still no cure.

In brief: Surgery, chemo
Depending on what type of cancer you had that went to the liver there are different treatment options.
Treatment also depends on tumor size and location. Tumors can be removed or destroyed with heat (ablation therapy). Some types of tumors are treated with chemotherapy. This could either be full body chemo or chemo delivered directly to the liver.
