I have been having chest pain on my left side for about a month. Sharp pain, plus a family history of heart disease. What could this be?

Costochondritis. Chest main can have many causes and yes one of them can be cardiovascular. If you have a strong family history and the chest pain is happening while exerting yourself please go to your primary doctor and have them check your heart.
