Got vulvodynia after pap smear. How does pap smear trigger vulvodynia? Does it mean doc caused nerve injury? Is this nerve injury permanent?

In brief: Vulvodynia describes

Only where the pain is, not why.
If your pain is new &started after pap, then a mechanism of injury needs to be identified.Pap smears shouldn't be traumatic. Irritation or damage to pelvic nerves (pudendal for example) can cause these symptoms, but i lack the full info. Rarely pain syndromes develop with minor injuries, like crps/rsd (google). I've had mixed luck with spinal cord stimulation/meds.
