In brief: Stay away from

A chronic heavy drinker (3 or more drinks per day) should not take tylenol (acetaminophen) at all. If you are an occasional drinker, do not both in less than 24 hours of each other. Women are more susceptible to liver damage from this combination, hence my suggestion, stay away from alcohol.

In brief: The danger in mixing

Alcohol and tylenol (acetaminophen) is not direct, unless we're talking about large amounts of both.
Some heavy drinkers develop glutathionine deficiency. Glut protects the liver from the toxic effects of tylenol (acetaminophen) & glut gets used up as it detoxifies tylenol (acetaminophen). Healthy people can handle reasonable amounts of these poisons. If you chug a whole bottle of booze or tylenol (acetaminophen), you may not live through it.
