In brief: Gustatory rhinitis

This is nonallergic rhinitis that is usually associated with ingestion of any food, but more often with hot or spicy foods.
Both adult and children develop this condition, but often more in those with allergic rhinitis and/or smoking. Atrovent nasal spray (best) and steroid spray may help. Also, antihistamine such as Benadryl (diphenhydramine) may reduce the runny nose a bit too. Consult doc. Good luck.

In brief: Runny nose

A few people have this reaction to foods they are allergic to.
Certain foods may cause the nose to run more such as spicey things. This usually is treated as a allergy with medications or prescription nasal sprays. May want to consult with your doctor if this continues.
