Bone infections can often be diagnosed with a combination of history taking, physical exam, x-rays and certain lab test.
There are no sure signs of diagnosing osteomyelitis just by looking at it. Bone infections are serious medical problems, and require prompt diagnosis and treatment. I would recommend to my patients immediate medical evaluation.
