May be shin splints. Many athletes get shin splints, also called tibial stress syndrome, at one time or another. Whether one jogs daily or just had to sprint to catch a bus one day, he may be having shin splints if he feels throbbing and aching in the shins. A primary care doctor, an orthopedic doctor, or a sports medicine doctor can evaluate. Treatment includes cold packs, motrin/advil, arch-support insoles, etc...
Could be shin. Splints, stress fracture or exercise induced compartment syndrome. Evaluation by an sports med orthopaedist will help. X-rays will rule out stress fracture. The pattern of pain and nsaids can help deteine compt syndrome versus shin splints. Compt syndrome typically hurts with activity and you have to stop because if severe pain. Shin splits ache on and off and may get better with exercise.
