What are some of the symptoms of a torn meniscus?

Pain. A torn meniscus can cause pain, locking, catching and swelling in the knee. The symptoms are often intermittent and related to position of the knee.
Joint line pain. Pain along the joint line of the knee, and pain in that area with twisting, or pivoting maneuvers.
Pain, locking. Locking, catching, swelling and knee pain are all symptoms.
