In brief: Benefits and risks

Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) is considered an extremely safe/effective treatment for depression & other disorders.
However, a meningioma/other brain tumors are relative contraindications to doing ect. That said, it is not an absolute contraindication and has been done before with success. The decision is always based on benefits vs. Risks. Talk with your doctor to see if it makes sense for you.

In brief: It depends

It depends on how large the mengioma is, where it's located, etc.
Space-occupying mass has previously been a contraindication to ect. But meningiomas are very common, & they're often small. In recent years, some research has shown that these treatments can be carried out safely -- of course, very careful evaluation is needed first. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22708257.

since meningioma can lead to electrical irritation of the brain, you can develop seizures from the tumor itself, thus best to have your MRI reviewed carefully by both a neurosurgeon and an neurologist specializing in epilepsy before considering ECT
