Swollen lymph nodes in arm pits, possibly new one in chest. Blood tests reveal high wbc, all other normal. Dr suggests lymphodectomy? Why?

To rule out lymphoma. Hopefully your tests will only show reactive lymph nodes (normal and fighting infection) but if lymphoma or hodgkin's disease is present, they're highly treatable and best to get started as soon as possible. Best of luck.
