In brief: See below
True oab is not caused by anything specific.
It is also called bladder dysynergia or unstable bladder. It occurs in both men and women. Now certainsthings can make it worse such as caffeinated beverages, and alcohol.

In brief: Busy Bladder
An "overactive" bladder is a term used to describe frequent urination which can be due to many causes.
Some can be related to neurological issues, metabolic issues, obstructive issues or infections. If you have no physiologic or physical issues it could also be a "perceived" issue and more psychosomatic. Most commonly it is infection in a woman and a simple urine test at your doctor can check.
