In brief: Peritoneal
X-rays can show if the peritoneal catheter is in the right place or if there are kinks in the catheter that can affect you dialysis.
It can also show if omentum or any other intestinel issue (constipation) is playing a role in decreased flow rates and dialysis problems.

In brief: Peritoneal Dialysis
In my experience there are two roles.
One is mechanical holding things in place so that there is no tension placed on the catheter. The second is to reduce infection by serving as a barrier to bacteria.
