In brief: Exercise, diet

Only type 2 diabetes is known to be preventable.
Maintaining a normal weight is the biggest key factor. Beyond that, exercise defined as 30 minutes brisk walking 5 times weekly has been shown to delay or prevent diabetes. Eating a diet low in refined/simple sugars is also worthwhile.

In brief: Good diet

Type 2 diabetes or "metabolic syndrome" is caused by couch potatoism and lousy diet, especially all the sugar and sweeteners.
Sugar is the main cause of the gross obesity in america. Read my blog "oxygen, the spark of life" you can google.
