What is Lamisil (terbinafine) cream and why is it usually prescribed?

Antifungal. Lamisil (terbinafine) is antifungal but has poor anti yeast properties. Creams which are more effective for yeast include miconazole, kopeks, ketoconazole, and nystatin. It is also used orally for extensive fungus infection or over a three month period with monitoring for toenail fungus.
See below. Lamasil cream has anti-fungal, and anti-yeast activity, and is prescribed to treat fungus and yeast infections.
