My grand daughter was given a toxic dose of zinc, had a severe reaction, skin peeling off entire body, is that toxic epidermal necrolysis?

Ask the DR. Zinc toxicity causes diarrhea. There may be vomiting as well. Something very different is happening.You left out too much to get anything else. WHY WAS THIS CHILD GIVEN ANY ZINC AT ALL? Serious Problem. Ten (toxic epidermal necrolysis) and (sjs) steven johnson syndrome are the same illness and only are separated by the percentage of body surface area involved. Erythema multiform is usually a much more limited problem.
