In brief: Treat the cause

"boop" is a generic term used by pathologists to describe a pattern of response to lung injury under the microscope.
It has literally dozens of causes. But, when no underlying cause (infection trauma, drug reaction, tumor, embolism) is identifiable, steroids can be used to accelerate recovery. In europe, the pathologists call it "cryptogenic organizing pneumonia", a better term in my opinion.
