In fact, trichophyton rubrum has been shown to have a genetic predilection, and some folks who have a certain gene keep getting t rubrum infections. It's important to treat any fungal infection for at least 30 days, since fungal spores live for 30 days and do not wash out in the laundry or are killed in the drier.
