life expectancy depends on the cause of liver disease for which someone gets transplant. Most common reason for liver transplant in USA is hepatitis C infection. Usually 5 year life expectancy is about 70% or so. The best life expectancy is seen in patients who gets liver transplant for primary biliary cirrhosis ( a type of liver disease that is affected by immune system)
