In brief: Wisdom teeth

I have seen wisdom teeth erupt at ages 17 through 70 ! a dental x-ray will tell if they are present and if the are ok or will need extractions.

In brief: Possibly, although

The usual age range is 16-25.
Removal is controversial, especially when these 3rd molars erupt normally, are not decayed, & there's space for them to come in. Traditionally, however, it is recommended they be extracted to prevent problems later (which may/may not occur). In japan they are trying to use them to replace other lost molars.
